Another 'Wish'

It was a busy Winter and although the cold was keeping me inside, there was no better time to consider an opportunity to complete three commissioned paintings. It has been a pleasure in the making and I feel delighted knowing these paintings will bring much happiness to a very special lady.

Wishing flowers (Dandelions) are a symbolic flower for many reasons and one close to my heart, as they bring back the beautiful memories of my childhood and to this day, I still make a wish with my daughter.

If it is not a memory, a wish or two, for pleasure of viewing, then please give a thought to the bees and our future. This Spring, I will plant some flowers for the bees and I will let the dandelions grow...happy gardening ;)

The TelegramOffice

A very special wedding and sadly we were unable to attend. As you can imagine, I spent endless hours thinking of the perfect gift to last a lifetime and something traditional that says more than just a card...when thankfully I came across 'The TelegramOffice'. My experience was a pleasant journey with the 'Telegram Clerk' who devoted his time to ensuring my details were accurate and that my telegram arrived in a professional and timely manner, not to forget the unique quality of the traditional and everlasting style.

This has been an experience to share, as the telegram brought a smile to the faces of loved ones.
Thank you so much for all your efforts, with great thanks to the 'Telegram Clerk'.

Visit 'The TelegramOffice' for more information.

Winter has arrived

An unusual cold snap arrived bringing snow to the Capital and strangely enough, people have commenced taking photos of snow on their cars....including myself :)

What to do on a cold Winter's day.....keep warm and paint. I am in the process of preparing three paintings to help someone's wish come true and it's been a delightful event in the making.

Grace Kelly - gems from the Palace.

I am always looking for new inspiration and when the recent announcement that Castlereagh boutique - Sydney were due to showcase Grace Kelly's collection, I Immediately immersed myself in viewing diamonds and created a special piece featuring the butterfly fossil.

I generally enjoy working with pencils and acrylic paints however, I was tempted to face the challenge of watercolour and I am pleased with the outcome and will continue to develop my skills using this medium.

This piece is now on it's journey to a new home and I hope the owner has as much appreciation for a symbolic period, as I have in the making.

Baby Badger

I commenced this illustration before I sliced my finger and thankfully managed to finish it over the last few days. I turned this piece into a gift card for my Uncle and with a little luck this might arrive in time for his Birthday.

Feeling pleased with this piece, as this was my first attempt at illustration fur in such fine detail. :)

Lost in art

Where have I been.....I appeared to have lost my creative flair for some time and during that period I somehow managed to slice my finger open on the windscreen wiper (my creative hand).  :(

Another year, another winter fast approaching and I struggle to be creative as soon as the first signs of winter appear, but there is no better opportunity than to teach my daughter who also enjoys drawing and painting. The genes run in the family and I enjoy every moment I have with her, as we chill out to music in a room that smells like an art studio.

This piece is the beginning of my daughter's creation and it surprises me to see how fast a 7 year old can pick up on the key techniques when exposed to the right tools and mediums.

Happy days!

Mother & Daughter Creations

My little girl is a fashion stylist at heart and was recently inspired by two young girls from Sydney who started their own business.

As a Mum, you do your best to help their wishes come true, so together we worked on a few items for my Etsy page seed2blossom:

Don't worry, the funds received will go back to my daughter in preparation for her next piece with a little savings on the side ;)

Featured Artist

I enjoy spending time sifting through the artists online and I am pleased to say there is a new artist on board with Etsy and having purchased one of the images, I can say the quality is exceptional.

Fave Art has some stunning pieces you could use these as a gift card, but I prefer to have the art framed. ;)

Fave Art have approved of this image being displayed on my blog.

Stepping into Copic

Training with Copic markers again, it's fun and allows you to be free, or detailed, depending on the nib of the pen.

I sell the templates on Craftsy, so you can have a go too, but don't worry if you make a mistake, simply print the file again. :)

Fun times in the making:

And finally my Moorcroft piece is now complete!
